Air Canada plane receives MID-FLIGHT THREAT, lands safely in U.S.

American officials are investigating a threat made against an Air Canada flight from Halifax to Newark, New Jersey. The threat was reported to Newark Airport Police around noon on 19-Feb-2024. Flight 8657 landed safely at Newark Liberty International Airport, with passengers deplaned without incident. The Port Authority Police Department conducted a thorough check of the aircraft, and normal operations resumed. The Port Authority declined to provide further details, stating the incident is under investigation. Air Canada and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are aware of the incident. The Halifax Stanfield International Airport confirmed it did not receive any threats about the flight and has not been contacted by Newark police authorities.
