The Stanford SLAC Cryo-EM Center is a research, training and dissemination resource for cryogenic electron microscopy funded by the National Institutes of Health accessible to the scientific community. Scientists and staff provide assistance and training to the scientific community for cryo-specimen preparation, high-throughput data collection, real-time data evaluation, and data analysis. The cneter's mission is to provide these services to collaborators and users who have important biological projects but do not have access to adequate equipment in their current laboratories. Some of the center's abilities consist of determining structures of biomolecules, molecular machines, organelles and cells by cryo-electron microscopy and tomography (Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET); providing state-of-the-art cryo-specimen preparation and data collection resources, and training in these areas, to the scientific community; and training scientists to acquire technical skills in the whole workflow of structural determination using cryo-EM and cryo-ET.
