SAREK – Adapting to unsuitable weather and forgoing planned attractions and experiences

Filmed 13-19 August 2025. The film describes a loop-shaped trek in the northern part of Sarek national park that started and ended in Änonjálmme. Hike along the Padjelantaleden trail to Treparksmötet. From there south on the east side of Sjpietjavjåhkkå along the edge of the stream ravine. After easy fording of Gisurisriehpejågåsj, continuation around the western slope of Gisuris at approximately the 850-metre level to reach Sierggavágge. After that, the plan was to trek up the southern side of the valley to the pass in the Ruohtes massif between Låvdaktjåhkkå 1445 and peak 1504 to reach the inner parts of the massif via the pass and continue down to Guohpervágge. Suitable weather for this never came. Many rainy days with low clouds meant that the passage through the Ruohtes massif did not happen. Along this passage are all the planned main attractions of the route. Instead, trekking east through Sireggavágge to Ruohtesvágge with rough weather and rain.
