Launched in the late 1930's and early 1940's, they were one of the more modern designs for a heavy cruiser. Coming in well over their design displacement, they packed a lot of punch and survivability into one package. In game, they definitely give you the punch but not as much in the survivability department. The maneuverability is a bit sluggish but overall she's a fun and capable ship when played correctly!
