We begin with a walk up to the North Harris Eagle Observatory, set high above the glen with incredible views across the mountains, sea lochs and coastline. Golden eagles are known to live in this area — but would we actually be lucky enough to spot one? Back in the campervan we take the long single-track road to Huisinis Beach, easily one of the most scenic drives in Scotland. The road winds through empty moorland, past scattered crofts and along sea lochs before reaching the Atlantic coast. At Huisinis we slow the day right down. We park beside the ocean, enjoy a packed lunch on the beach, let the dogs paddle and swim, and take some time to simply appreciate the peace and space that makes the Hebrides so special. With the Atlantic wind blowing we decide to try flying a kite… and this time it actually lifts into the sky. This episode is a quieter, relaxed day in our journey across the islands — less rushing, more enjoying the landscape and atmosphere that makes the Outer Hebrides such a memorable Scotland road trip destination.
