Today was a very busy day! While our neighbor is away, we’ve taken over caring for her dog and cats — because in the village, that’s just how it’s done. We always help each other out. 🤝 In this episode, I’ll show you our daily routine: Farm Chores: My son and I are moving hay down from the loft ("pod") to feed the cows. Cooking for the Pig: My son grinds grain to cook "tokan" for our pig. I’ll explain what "tokan" is and how we prepare it using chopped aftermath (second-cut grass) and potato peels. Feel free to ask about the recipe! Barn Beauty Day: I gave the cows a good brushing with a comb and did a bit of "spider-hunting" (clearing out cobwebs) to keep the barn clean and tidy. Relaxation: At the end of the day, a peaceful walk through the woods with my loyal dog, Druzhok. Thanks for watching! I’m curious—what do you call pig feed in your part of the world? Do you have a special name for it like our "tokan"? Let me know in the comments! 👇 #village #farmlife #countryside #homestead #cows #farming #dailyroutine #nature #doglover #rurallife #slowliving #mountainlife 00:00 In this video 00:40 Putting fresh milk in the well to let the cream rise 01:10 Feeding the neighbor's dog and cats 02:10 Tending to the livestock 03:50 How we mill the grain for "tokan" 05:50 Cleaning the stable and brushing the cows 09:45 A walk.
