Articuno has debut in Dynamax Battle, marking the first Legendary Pokemon available in Max Battle. Dynamax Articuno is an Ice/Flying type Pokemon, which is weak against Electric/Fire/Steel and double weak to Rock moves. Unfortunately, its precise stats is still in investigation, where we believe it has low HP stats (less than 10000) but high attack/defense (~1.35 CMP). Similar to all Max Battle bosses, Dynamax Articuno will pick two charged move from its movepool, including any legacy/exclusive moves it has learnt in past. As such, Articuno will pick one of Triple Axel/Icy Wind/Ice Beam/Blizzard/Hurricane/Ancient Power as LARGE ATTACK and another one as targeted move. While Dynamax Articuno is double weak against Rock-type moves, unfortunately, there is no Rock-type Dynamax Pokemon in this game. Even worse, there is no Dynamax/Gigantamax Pokemon learns Rock-type fast move so none of them can use Max Rockfall. With Max Rockfall being unavailable, G-Max Stun Shock from Gigantamax Toxtricity and G-Max Wildfire from Gigantamax Charizard are the best alternatives against Dynamax Articuno. In terms of defense, Gigantamax Lapras has extremely high HP stats. With its double resistance to Ice-type moves (which consists of 2/3 of Dynamax Articuno moveset) as well as access to 0.5s fast move Water Gun, it is naturally the best tank for Dynamax Articuno. Apart from Gigantamax Lapras, Dynamax Excadrill and Blastoise are also excellent tanks against Dynamax Articuno. Similar to Gigantamax Lapras, while Gigantamax Toxtricity hits hard, it is not capable to fight outside of Max phase. Its former opponent, Gigantamax Lapras, will fight alongside with Gigantamax Toxtricity this time on its quest of defeating Dynamax Articuno. With Dynamax Articuno low HP stats, it is even possible to be defeated as Solo Raid without weather boost, as long as one would use Max Mushroom to double the team's attacks. Since it is a Solo Battle, Gigantamax Lapras would take a long time to charge up Max Meter. However, even with the massive energy generated in the process, Gigantamax would still prefers to not using any moves, as its moves are hardly effective against Dynamax Articuno. It would try to charge up Max Meter as fast as possible with Water Gun and pass the baton to Gigantamax Toxtricity for G-Max Stun Shock. With Gigantamax Lapras as tank, the team kept reattempting the battle until Dynamax Articuno used Icy Wind and Triple Axel. At last, the team has defeated Dynamax Articuno barely before it enrages. Team used: CP 2602 Gigantanax Lapras - Lv40 13/15/13 Water Gun (No Max moves upgrade) CP 2636 Gigantanax Lapras - Lv40 15/15/14 Water Gun/Lv1 G-Max Resonance/Lv3 Max Guard/Lv3 Max Spirit CP 2575 Gigantanax Toxtricity - Lv40 15/15/11 Spark/Lv3 G-Max Stun Shock
