Lukam Tonglum demonstrates Weqla augury, sings the Mulon song and performs Cyiiiq Nyom (Tiger Dance)

A recording made at Kharang Kong on 29th December 2009 relating to the Weqla augury, Mulon song and Cyiiq Nyom (tiger dance). the beginning of this recording was filmed at the gate of the house, where Lukam, made some prayer and tore the leaves of the weqla off their stalks. 1’14” he explains the portions of the Weqla. 2’02” Then Lukam went up into the house, and showed on old weqla, all dried out, hanging on the wall of the house. 2’09” He then started the weqla prayer, invoking the Naga ancestor., but was interrupted first by the arrival of a guest and then at 5’20” by the phone. and at 5’54” sang a little of the Mulon song, At, 6’16”, fully dressed in the Naga helmet, he started the whole process again. From around 10’09” he starts to explain the process and talk about what are the good omens and the not so good omens that the weqla has revealed. At 17’20” he moved to outside for the performance of the Mulon Nyom, which was completed at 21’11”. This was followed by the Chyiiq Nyom (tiger dance), a war dance. 23’55” An impromptu version of this followed, in which Liikyam sang to his grandson Cho Ngong. 24’49” Finally he climbed up into the house, where he demonstrated the fighting technique.
