Bandcamp: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lyrics: I hate that I hear your voice When I'm surrounded by silence And I see your face When I close my eyes each night I hate that it drags me down Dwelling on all those wasted years I'll never get them back So why can't I just make them disappear? I hate that you're on my mind While I write the words to this song I know that you're long gone And it's not like I even miss you Don't you know that I tried to forget you? Don't you know that I tried so damn hard? But it seems like no matter what I do Your face keeps haunting me There you are at the back of my mind Festering like a poison inside But I know that as memories start to fade One day I will forget you I hate that I don't hate you For all the pain you put me through I hate that it fell apart A tragic work of tainted art I tried but you gave up And left me to drown in the pieces Don't you know that I tried to forget you? Don't you know that I tried so damn hard? But it seems like no matter what I do Your face keeps haunting me There you are at the back of my mind Festering like a poison inside But I know that as memories start to fade One day I will forget you From the start you were waiting for the end To watch the spark die like it was all pretend You shut me out when I sought to make amends I was the fool to think that we could still be friends Don't you know that I tried to forget you? Don't you know that I tried so damn hard? But it seems like no matter what I do Your face keeps haunting me... Don't you know that I tried to forget you? Don't you know that I tried so damn hard? But it seems like no matter what I do Your face keeps haunting me There you are at the back of my mind Festering like a poison inside But I know that as memories start to fade One day I will forget Don't you know that I tried to forget you? Don't you know that I tried so damn hard? But it seems like no matter what I do Your face keeps haunting me There you are at the back of my mind Festering like a poison inside But I know that as memories start to fade One day I will forget you ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Letter from the Producer: It's finally time! I feel like I've been working on this song for ages, and I'm so excited to see it out in the world! I've been working on this since like...early-mid June? I started it shortly after finishing "Your Voice". Writing it has definitely been a journey. When I first picked Gumi to voice the song, I had no idea what it would become. That was before I'd written a single lyric, and at first I struggled with what to write about, trying to avoid the subject matter the song was pulling me toward, which I eventually submitted to. One thing I'm finding as I'm writing so much original music again is that sometimes songs just take on a personality of their own - be it musically, lyrically, or both - and it's pointless trying to go against that sometimes. That was definitely the case writing "Forget You". I kept hearing certain phrases accompanying the vocal melodies I had written. I knew it was going to pull me into a place that I didn't know if I wanted to explore. Years of pain and anger I'd been suppressing became the fuel that propelled this song into creation. I tend to write from personal experiences a lot, but this song took it even further yet and almost became a therapy session I didn't know I needed, lol. Through Gumi's voice I was able to confront and process these emotions. In a way, as weird as it sounds I feel like I bonded with her while writing this song. She was already my favorite Vocaloid (speaking strictly of voices that use the actual Vocaloid software, Teto is still my favorite overall lol), but hearing how she helped me bring this song to life made me love her all the more. I hope this song resonates with people who share similar experiences. #vocaloid #gumi #megpoid #synthv #vocanew #vocalopost #vocarock
