Is this my fate? Through the eyes of times gone by I wave goodbye to paradise Laid to rest dreams that I could fly To think I'd die to touch the sky A foolish child lost in a lie Now it's time that I say my goodbyes To paradise A living memory A never-ending dream A facade with no truth beneath An endless symphony A choir of deceit Orchestrating a ruthless scheme Nothing's as it seems Promises empty Like a machine that's withering Every routine in disarray And I can't fight it back And I can't fight it back Thoughts scatter into a whirring breeze Lost in disbelief The glass breaks, slowly revealing Everything is dust and decay And I can't fight it back And I can't fight it back Is it too late? Is this my fate? Through the eyes of times gone by I wave goodbye to paradise Laid to rest dreams that I could fly To think I'd die to touch the sky A foolish child lost in a lie Now it's time that I say my goodbyes To paradise "Paradise", or so they called it Nothing more than a call to submit A future with zero conflict Illusion, no one wants to admit Pierce the veil and live forever What's the point if no one remembers? Memories and bonds are severed Offerings to the ocean of time Time passes by Pain subsides One last goodbye To paradise Through the eyes of times gone by I wave goodbye to paradise Laid to rest dreams that I could fly To think I'd die to touch the sky A foolish child lost in a lie Now it's time that I say my goodbyes Through the eyes of times gone by I wave goodbye to paradise (to paradise) Laid to rest dreams that I could fly (laid to rest) To think I'd die to touch the sky A foolish child lost in a lie (in a lie) Now it's time that I say my goodbyes (say my goodbyes) To paradise ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Letter from the Producer: My friends, the original content drought is finally over! I couldn't be more proud of how this song came together. When Eclipsed Sounds announced a songwriting contest for Saros I knew it'd be fun to try, but didn't expect what would happen when I sat down to begin writing my song. Saros is incredibly inspiring and a blast to worth with! Every single time I had a cool idea it was like the voice responded back with "I got this". I tried to use as many different variations on the vocal as I possibly could because of this! There's low, low parts. There's high, high parts! Playing around and discovering what Saros was capable of was just as fun as the actual process of writing the song. Lyrically this song also represents a bit of a stylistic shift in my writing compared to my previous original work. Rather than being based on personal experience, I dove deep into concept and character for this song (and my other upcoming originals follow this trend!). I've really been enjoying developing that skill lately, and I hope you like a less direct, more metaphorical and painterly style of lyric! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- #vocaloid #SynthV_SAROS #synthesizerv
