Climbing Tryfan North Ridge in winter has been on my list, and we got the perfect snowy day in Eryri to go for it. Enjoy the boys taking on the iconic North Ridge of Tryfan in proper winter conditions — fresh snow, icy rock, big exposure, and unreal mountain views. Starting from the Ogwen Valley, we make our way up the hands-on scramble that makes Tryfan one of the best and most popular scrambles in the UK. The North Ridge is a classic Grade 1 in summer, but winter completely changes the feel of it. Snow-covered slabs, careful foot placements, frozen turf, and that constant sense of exposure make it a proper mountain day out. We follow the natural line of the ridge all the way to the summit, finishing at the famous Adam and Eve stones, with incredible views stretching across the Glyderau and beyond. Winter in Snowdonia just hits differently — quiet mountains, crisp air, and the thrill and focus you only get on snowy scrambles.
