"Ding dong" was his catchphrase and you might recognise him from the Carry On and Harry Potter films, but he did so many other film and television work which i have seen many of, like all the time, including several this year. He died at the age of 98 and he died yesterday and his birthday was last April. It's always a pleasure to watch those early Carry On films, even in black and white, they are rather good and full of humour and his characters are always a pleasure to watch. I think he may be the last of the bigger or regulars from the Carry On films (certainly the early ones), though Amanda Barrie (87) is still with us. Thanks for all the laughs and your portrayals and all the "ding dongs", which make many people laugh 😄 I may go watch Carry on Teacher, or Carry on Nurse, or Carry on Constable, though I have seen these many times already.
