Today we are off to a place called Beno’s in Benaulim, for breakfast. Beno is located around the corner from Holy Trinity Church in Benaulim. From Maria Hall crossing in Benaulim, take the road towards Varca and Mobor. Just 1 kilometre from Maria Hall is Holy Trinity Church. Stay slow after the second speedbreaker. Here the road turns right toward Varca. Beno is just 100 metres from here. There is a parking area on the left, before you reach Beno Costs we paid: Tuscan farinata: Rs 375, egg, bacon and cheddar sandwich Rs 450, cheddar and mango salsa on toast Rs 425, Berry chia smoothie bowl Rs 330, hangover smoothie Rs 275, shakshouka Rs 475, doppio coffee Rs 250, fresh cucumber, watermelon, apple and celery juice Rs 250, Americano coffee Rs 250, cappuccino Rs 280 Beno’s menu certainly has many healthy breakfast options, but they aren’t cheap Maria and I asked Jaya to choose breakfast for us, as she is more familiar with Beno She chose a Tuscan farinata for me (Rs 375), a chickpea pancake with roasted veg and fresh mozzarella cheese. Maria is having the egg, bacon and cheddar sandwich (Rs 450). Jaya herself is having the cheddar and mango salsa on toast (Rs 425) and Berry chia smoothie bowl (Rs 330). To drink, I am having the Americano coffee (Rs 250) and Maria is having cappuccino (Rs 280). Vaga is having the famous Israeli shakshouka (Rs 475), that is two eggs baked on a bed of vegetables with some hummus, feta cheese and baguette slices for dipping. He is also having the hangover smoothie (Rs 275) without added sugar. Jaya is having the doppio coffee (Rs 250) and fresh cucumber, watermelon, apple and celery juice (Rs 250), which sounds more like a salad than a juice Beno is a very beautifully done up restaurant, very nice decor. The outside garden area has some very nice seating. We love the open garden feel. It’s set in the garden of a traditional Goan house. It’s lovely. We really liked the vibe at Beno. It’s a jolly space The coffee here is excellent. The Tuscan farinata pancake was very beautiful and appetising looking, but less quantity. Vaga enjoyed his sugar less hangover smoothie. Jaya found her doppio coffee okay. She said it’s good but a little sour for her so she’ll have one more with milk this time Maria’s egg, bacon and cheddar croissant sandwich (Rs 450) clearly had a lot of egg and cheese but very little bacon. Jaya was very curious about the combination of cheddar cheese and mango in her cheese and mango salsa on toast (Rs 425) breakfast. Jaya’s verdict was she didn’t much like it Last came Vaga’s shakshouka. It looked amazing. Everyone liked Vaga’s shakshouka dish Jaya’s sugar free berry chia dish has come with some nice nuts on top. It’s very nice, just the time of day is off for me because it’s sour from berries, so not very breakfast for me Jaya loved the berry chia dish. Vaga also loved it. Maria also liked it, especially the nuts One thing I must say is that I was really impressed by the staff at Beno. Whoever served us, was so pleasant and polite. They made our breakfast a lovely experience Music: Sayuri Hayashi Egnell / Joy in the Little Things / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com Arden Forest / Dark Taupe / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com Megan Wofford / Morning Star / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com Anders Schill Paulsen / Oriro / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com Anna Landstrom / Sky in Your Eyes, Indelible / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com #goa #4k #benaulim #southgoa #cafe #breakfast
