Wow — let’s talk about this map! This campaign is set in Peru, much like DIZTRITO, but this one blows it out of the water. It’s got the flavor of Cambalache — detailed, vibrant, and unique in almost every aspect. From the visuals and Spanish text to the urban environments, custom safehouse music, and use of The Parish horde theme, it really feels like you’re fighting through the streets of Lima during the infection. You’ll explore city blocks, an abandoned mall, and an airport — imagine No Mercy, Dead Center, and Dead Air with a Peruvian twist. The gameplay is straightforward and not overly difficult, though it borrows ideas from the official campaigns. I did get turned around a few times in Chapter 1, but nothing too bad. Chapter 2 features a unique but slightly frustrating twist — soldiers shooting at you from afar. They have pinpoint accuracy, hit hard, and only target whoever’s leading (usually you). The bots don’t help much either, refusing to shoot back or even take damage unless they’re in front. It’s not game-breaking, but it feels a bit unfair. Chapter 3 takes inspiration from Hard Rain with a witch-filled food court, and Chapter 4 ramps up the intensity with a gauntlet crescendo after you walk through a metal detector — a clever nod to Dead Air’s finale run. Speaking of finales, this one’s excellent. It starts off like Dead Air’s finale as you defend a reskinned C-130 while it fuels up, but halfway through it flips into a mini-scavenge event with one gas can and a generator to defend. It’s a fresh take on The Last Stand’s mixed finale style — a creative twist that really works. It’s no wonder Lima Infection quickly became one of the highest-rated custom campaigns on Steam. It’s beautiful, fun, and packed with detail. There are a few issues — some navigation confusion in Chapter 1, unfair soldier accuracy in Chapter 2, no ammo piles in Chapter 3 (from what I could tell), and some typical bot blunders like Nick teleporting into a glass wall and Rochelle failing to board the C-130 during the escape — but nothing that ruins the experience. This campaign is hefty at 855 MB (not including the optional mods that go with it), but it’s worth every byte. If you want a high-quality, immersive campaign that feels official, this is the one to play. Final Rating: A+ As I mentioned in the video, I didn’t download the Lima Infection collection that’s meant to go with this campaign since I already had my own mods installed and it’s not required. But just because I didn’t doesn’t mean you shouldn’t! Feel free to grab it — it adds new survivors, weapons, and custom skins for both the Special and Common Infected. You can find it linked below or in the campaign’s description. So, with this being my “vacation” (since my real one got canceled), don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe — help me take a trip somewhere before 2026.
