Hubsan X4 H501S Out of the Box - Normal Mode Issue

Please read all before rating. Out of the box heads up. My Hubsan X4 H501s stock firmware version 1.1.9. Normal mode does not work. Default start up in expert mode. I was hoping I could practise with this quad in normal mode where the movement setting are at 60%, like low mode on other quad-copters. Mine and others it seems defaults to expert mode 100% and will not start the propellers in normal mode. I love this quad and after speaking with support at Gearbest am confident a solution will be found. I hope sooner rather than later. I have lots of experiments I am going to do with this quad and some mod's. I will start by making a larger capacity battery mod which will be rechargeable from a charge socket on the controller. Next extended range. I would like to see if you can turn off the screen when it is not required. Anyone have any ideas on this? Just been told, it works using firmware version 1.1.17 I understand it also tunes GPS and makes other tweaks. HAPPY DAY'S!
