For the past year I’ve been living low-carb and high-fat. I felt incredible. I lost 37 kilos, my inflammation dropped, my blood sugar stabilised, my mood improved, and I was fitter than I’d been in more than 20 years. So I assumed everything inside my body must also be improving. But when my latest blood results came back… I was shocked. My LDL more than tripled. My ApoB climbed into a risk range my doctor wasn’t comfortable with. And for the first time, I realised something important: 👉 How you FEEL can lie. Your blood work doesn’t. I’m not a doctor. I’m not a scientist. I’m just a man in his 60s trying to rebuild his health after a tough few years — and sharing the truth of my personal journey. This video is NOT anti-keto. It’s not anti-low-carb. It’s simply what happened to me, and what I wish someone told me sooner: ✔ Get baseline bloods before changing your diet ✔ Include ApoB ✔ Test again after 3–6 months ✔ Don’t rely only on feeling good ✔ Your body might react differently to saturated fat I’m also pausing my chocolate-nut product development until I reformulate them safely. If it’s not safe for everyone — including me — I won’t move forward. My Numbers in U.S. Units mg/dL Before - on 10 mg statin Marker mg/dL Total Cholesterol 131 mg/dL LDL-C 58 mg/dL HDL-C 54 mg/dL Triglycerides 74 mg/dL Conversions: After 10 months high-fat - same statin dose Marker mg/dL Total Cholesterol 282 mg/dL LDL-C 201 mg/dL HDL-C 58 mg/dL Triglycerides 66 mg/dL ApoB Conversion ApoB is often reported in mg/dL internationally, but the U.S. sometimes uses mg/dL or g/L. My ApoB: 1.33 g/L = 133 mg/dL Optimal ApoB: • 80 mg/dL or lower = low risk • 80–100 mg/dL = moderate • 100 mg/dL or higher = elevated risk I am at 133 mg/dL, which is well into the “high-risk” category. Thank you for watching. If this helps one person avoid being blindsided like I was… it’s worth it.
