Combined Pipe Bands lead Lonach Highlanders afternoon march during 2024 Lonach Gathering and Games

The combined Pipe Bands lead the 3pm march of the Lonach Highlanders around the Games field. This was part of the Lonach Gathering and Highland Games, held on Saturday 24th August 2024, within the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. For more from this event and across Scotland see our page ⁨‪@BraemarMedia‬ In front were the 3 Lonach Highlanders with their Lochaber axes, then the Lonach Pipe band, Towie Pipe Band, Huntly Pipe Band and Ballater Pipe Band, playing 10th Btn HLI Crossing the Rhine. The leading Drum Major was Neil Jamieson, followed by Bill Barclay, Ian Esson and Derek Dean. The Lonach Highlanders are led by Sir James Forbes, Patron of the Lonach Highland and Friendly Society, together with the standard bearers. The Highlanders carry their ceremonial Swords, Lochaber axes and eight-foot long pikes, and are all members of Clan Forbes, Gordon and Wallace, each with their own tartan.
