The Huey helicopter is one of the most iconic aircrafts from the Vietnam war. It was crucial during medical mission, as it helped provide assistance to wounded soldiers. However, this came at a huge risk, as the Huey was one of the most dangerous aircrafts anyone could fly. The rescue missions were always a huge risk, and the chances of someone coming back unharmed were pretty slim. Pilots Tom Barker and Jack Swicker undertook perilous rescue missions, which they now share on camera. On May 14th, 1967, Barker, Swicker, and their team embarked on a significant rescue mission, navigating through hazardous conditions and intense enemy fire to save over 100 soldiers. This is their story. Welcome to The Aviation Channel – where the sky’s the limit!
