The value of patent portfolios is often shrouded in mystery, due to the lack of transparency associated with IP transactions. In the US market, some of the recent multi-million dollar patent deals, Supreme Court decisions, intensive patent litigation and the ongoing patent reform legislation, have had a tremendous impact on the financial value of IP assets.
