MG5 in-depth review - Why is this a brilliant EV? • MG5 in-depth review - Why is this a brilli... The MG Cyberster is one of the most important and exciting new cars to launch in 2024. Why? Well, in some ways it's the car MG enthusiasts have been crying out for over a decade – people like myself and my dad - that's his Inca Yellow MGB but the way. Up to now, MG's Chinese owners haven't been that interested in taking MG back to its origins, and instead focussed the brand on building a range of value for money hatchbacks and SUVs – models like the HS, for example, are good but they don't get you pulse racing. So, the Cyberster finally marks a return to those good old days of two seater roadsters wearing the octagon badge – there hasn't been one of those for thirteen years. But this Cyberster is no tweedy stroll down memory lane, it's pure electric and it's bang up to date. Has the classic MG sports car been brought into the 2020s? I find out. The car tested is the GT model with dual motors, 496bhp and a 77kWh battery pack. It's painted in optional Inca Yellow and costs £59,995 at the time of filming. ___________ If I look a bit familiar then you might have seen me on Carbuyer and Auto Express YouTube channels in the past.
