New Orleans Cornetists : Louis ''Kid Shots'' Madison with O. T. J. O. in 1925.

Louis ''Kid Shots'' Madison, New Orleans cornetist and trumpeter, began to work playing with trombonist Frankie Dusen's Eagle Band, and, among the others, with Oscar ''Papa'' Celestin before 1917. Then , as 2nd cornet, he played with the Original Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra of Oscar Celestin and of trombonist Wiliam Ridgley, recording in 1925 three tunes. Celestin and Ridgley fell out late in 1925 and so Ridgley assembled the Ridgley's Original Tuxedo Jazz Band with Kid Shots on cornet and Celestin formed the Original Tuxedo Orchestra. In the late '20s ''Kid Shots'' Madison played at Tranchinas on Lake Pontchartrain, the Pelican Dance Hall and the Plantation Club, in 1930s and 1940s with the ERA Band (1935), the Eureka Brass Band, the Young Tuxedo Brass Band and the WPA Brass Band, recording in 1944 as Kid Shots' New Orleans Band and in 1945 with Bunk’s Brass Band. Madison died in 1948. The only tune of 3 recorded in 1925 where one can hear a ''duet'' of the Celestin and Madison's cornets, even if for a very short time and listening very carefully (01:12 - 01:37), is that in this video: 00:10 ''Careless Love'' (Traditional) - Original Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra – Rec.
