Today, it is my pleasure to present you with what is perhaps my greatest find of all times... It had been presumed that these trucks had been pulled off route for some time now, never to be found or filmed. But lo and behold, roaming the streets of Oakland, Mike and I were able to stumble across almost completely by accident none other than Kann Co-Collect sitting atop a beat and battered Volvo WXLL chassis, still painted in the old-school burgundy Waste Management paint scheme! (aka WMX Technologies) I damn near literally soiled my pants the second I saw it! Seeing one of these old burgundy beasts brought back a flood of fond childhood memories! And to make things even better, the driver was one of the friendliest drivers we encountered on the entire trip! He immediately welcomed us to follow and film for as long as we pleased! And as luck continued on our side, we later were informed that had we been even a couple weeks later, this truck and the only other remaining burgundy WMX truck (which was exactly identical to this one) would have been replaced and we never would have gotten the opportunity to document one! Enough talk. I hope you guys all enjoy this look back at waste industry history as much as Mike and I did! Though in all reality a mere paint job is nothing of real significance, in this case it happens to represent something that, in it's day, shaped the waste industry into what is and how we know it today. Thank you for watching! Please be sure to take the time to leave comments and "Likes" on this video! This is perhaps my one video that I am most proud of out of the hundreds of videos I have uploaded over the past few years! Also, I would like to throw a huge thank you to the driver of this truck for making this all possible!
