Starting my homemade linen suit!

To my delight, it's time to make another suit. After my wedding suit project earlier in the year, I've tweaked my pattern – hopefully for the better. And with summer approaching, this time I've picked out a lovely brown linen/cotton blend fabric that I can't wait to sew with! Truly, the allure of DIY tailoring knows no bounds. Anyway, in today's video—the first entry of the Summer suit diaries—I take my time muddling through the initial stages of the jacket, featuring a breast welt pocket and a tutorial for patch hip pockets (these being a first for me). There's plenty of basting and even some pick-stitching too – not to mention the usual quota of snafus. I'm so happy to be back on the tailoring horse... And soon, I'll finally have something to wear to all those race meets and Riviera soirées I'm always getting invited to – or else just something elegant to don around the house...
