We leave Saud Beach - recently crowned Travel + Leisure Magazine's best beach in the Philippines and the world in 2021 - not before a morning walk down Pagudpud's Boracay of the North to see the morning catch further down Saud Beach. On our way back to Piddig, we have lunch at a very scenic place, by Ilocos Norte's famous windmill beach at a hole in the wall roadside restaurant called Kang Kang Windmill Cafe in the town of Burgos, Ilocos Norte. Famous for its Ilocano specialties, Kang Kang has a rotating menu - appropriately enough by the windmills of Ilocos Norte - and we feasted on sisig, bagnet, fresh caught roast catfish (hito in Tagalog, paltat in Ilocano), pancit canton, and pork belly adobo.
