Cruz Cedillo, Depto. de Computación ABSTRACT: Artificial Intelligence is the ability of machines to imitate intelligent human behaviors and develop human-like tasks. It combines algorithms that allow computers to: 1) Perceive their environment, 2) Learn from perceived data, 3) Solve problems, and 4) Make appropriate decisions, with the objective of carrying out functions that until now were only achievable by human beings. A Metaverse, on the other hand, is a shared digital world, where, as users, we can travel and interact through our own avatar in an immersive three-dimensional virtual world. Within a metaverse we can carry out a great variety of activities such as socializing, playing, working, shopping, remotely attending concerts or sporting events, etc. In this talk we will address some details about the horizontal technology of Artificial Intelligence, as well as about the metaverse and what role Artificial Intelligence plays in its establishment. Details will be given about the applications that are coming in the future and the necessary requirements for the establishment and acceptance of what in the near future will be the next digital leap of our humanity.
