It wouldn't be right to visit one of the Twin Cities and simply skate past the other. I'm very glad we didn't. The best way to follow up the great northern city of Minneapolis is to of course, discover what lies next door in Saint Paul, the closest thing this independent city has to a close sibling. Although the two work together to foster a unique urban environment in the United States, each stands on their own as a competitive city with their own distinct identities. Not only can today's destination boast about its central administrative role in as Minnesota's capital city, but it also enjoys the position as a critically historic city of America's old frontier, having acted as a major cradle of the state's development. From the age of fur trading and steamboats to the modern day of global character, the river Mississippi has long been a symbol of the link Saint Paul has had to the rest of the country, guiding people and facilitating decades of commerce upwards toward this haven of the north. Art? Architecture? Tales of history and heroes? Opportunities to reflect upon cultural perspectives and personal belief? Good grief, explore this city as well if Minneapolis catches your touristic attention!
