Lawn is 100% Kentucky Bluegrass (KBG)... installed as sod in Fall of 2010. Maintained with seed from same sod farm over the years. KBG is mostly Midnight and Bluebank, with some Shannon and Jumpstart. I started overseeing with Ryan Knorr Elite Perennial Ryegrass in 2022 and used that 25-pound bag over the past 3-seasons to help speed up bare spots. I've learned I prefer the 100% KBG and wouldn't introduce the Rye if I could hit the undo button, but it is what it is now. After Scalping and Detaching on August 24th, I still wasn't seeing the lawn take a turn for the better, so I decided to RE-Scalp and RE-Dethatch on September 11th with a more aggressive plan. This is that process. I made an editing mistake and left out where I scalped with the push reel mower — oops! I followed with Ammonium Sulfate (21-0-0) fertilizer on September 13th and overseeded on September 17th with seed I started pre-germination on September 10th. I don't use Glyphosate and don't advocate for anyone else to use it either.
