This weekend I'm sharpening my tools and I have a pile of dull cabinet scrapers that need some attention. I don't own a burnishing tool. So I usually just make due with what I have. But lately I've been using my cabinet scrapers a lot more and it would be nice to have a dedicated tool for this task. So today on Plan Build Use, I'm making a burnishing tool. 01:15 A burnishing tool needs to be hard, so I'm making the main body out of O1 tool steel. 01:48 My propane torch is broken right now; but I've found that this propane space heater does a surprisingly good job for heating up small parts. 01:56 I use an old file to confirm that the part is hardened and then move on to polishing. 02:45 I'm glad to finally have a burnisher with a handle on it.
