See here the summary all 8 installation days of the spectacular Artwork by visual artist Jop Vissers Vorstenbosch which was unveiled on October 16, 2025 in the lobby of the newly renovated Nikhef in Amsterdam. Title: An Improbable Super Event (Een Onwaarschijnlijk Super Event) Team: Jop Vissers Vorstenbosch, Juliën Vrinds Renou, Joost van Doorn, Bert Buurke, Will Vissers, Mais Vissers, Lennart de Neef, Vincent de boer, Jonas Wijtenburg, Arne Boon, Jop Erken, Cecilia Rebergen, Arda van Tiggelen Co-financing: Modriaan Fund DAY 1 - Monday October 6, 2025. The day starts in Jop's studio in Soesterberg. Paintings are being packed for transport tomorrow. The structural parts of the Artwork were brought to Nikhef which are a Huge LED base of 3x2m with 77 LED panels (67.200 LEDs) and the two structural top and bottom panels DAY 2 - Tuesday October 7, 2025 The 8 paintings (3x2m) and 23 front plates with engraved images of flying neutrinos are packed for transport to Nikhef at Jop's Studio in Soesterberg. 8 transparent paintings. 5 paintings of the data from the ALICE detector which studied the quark-gluon plasma at CERN. and 3 paintings of the visualization of two colliding Black Holes and the Gravitational Waves they emit. Hereafter placing of the bottom panel, on which everything rests is done at the entrance hall of Nikhef. Moving of the huge base with 77 LED panels to the Nikhef entrance was done on transport blankets because of the height of the door opening. DAY 3 - Wednesday October 8, 2025 Today the routing of al the cables is done and placing the bottom-support for the 23 front plates. DAY 4 - Thursday October 9, 2025 Today, a lot of work is being done on the wiring for the LED screen. Stan, the former Nikhef director who acquired the artwork, is visiting for the first time. DAY 5 - Friday October 10, 2025 Placing of the top-support for the 23 front plates is done. The 2 side doors are made of walnut wood, just like what the cabinet in the Nikhef library is made of. Stan (former Nikhef director who acquired the artwork) shows proud the special bolts with Nikhef-logo. At the end of the day, the 8 paintings are already being placed in the Nikhef entrance for installation tomorrow (Saturday October 11, 2025) DAY 6 - Saturday October 11, 2025 Today is the big installation day of the 8 paintings, in which 2 family members also help. First cleaning and appling antistatic coating of the 23 laser engraved front plates is done. Before installing the paintings, a white transparant plate is installed for diffusing light of the 67200 LEDs. First 5 paintings are of ALICE particle tracks in red, yellow, blue, orange with some at the bottom bubble chamber spirals and one with tracks on the outside of ALICE. The next 3 paintings are visualization in different colors of two colliding Black Holes and the Gravitational Waves they emit and neutrinos spirals with accents of neutrinos spirals. DAY 7 - Monday October 13, 2025 Today the 23 front plates are being installed. The front plates are engraved with images of the huge bubble chamber 'Gargamelle' which detected neutrinos from 1970 to 1976 at CERN. Finally, adjusting the light program is completed. DAY 8 - Tuesday October 14, 2025 Today some final finishing. Many Nikhef people come to take a look and chat with Jop. Finally two cover plates are fixed with special screws with Nikhef logo
