Date filmed: 10/05/2021 Video filmed at 13:42 Route: East Suffolk Line Halesworth is the closest station Location: 52.333093, 1.511143 Trains: Class 755 (Greater Anglia) - 0:42 Lowestoft ➡ Ipswich A level crossing situated on a single-track lane in a very nice and pretty area just outside of the town of Halesworth. This is one of many formerly-ungated on this line between Ipswich and Lowestoft that had barriers installed in 2014, with this level crossing's barriers dating back to the November of that year. Two fairly loud alarms each sound at this level crossing to warn users of approaching trains from when the amber lights show until just before each of the short half barriers raise. Accompanying these are two rather rare halogen 'another train coming' red lights which illuminate if the level crossing stays lowered for more than one train at a time. However, these are not seen in operation in this video, as such instances on this part of the line are rather hard to come by. From the direction of Halesworth Station the Ipswich-bound train could be seen approaching shortly before this level crossing activated. If you listen very carefully, a very faint level crossing alarm sound can just about be heard after the train has disappeared around the bend heading southbound. This alarm sound was coming from Bramfield Level Crossing, around half a mile south of here. Thanks for watching!
