Date filmed: 10/05/2021 Video filmed at 14:20 Route: East Suffolk Line Brampton Station Location: Station Road, Redisham Trains: Class 755 (Greater Anglia) - 1:42 Ipswich ➡ Lowestoft Lowering starts at 1:01 A half barrier level crossing with drivers' crossing indicators and LED level crossing floodlights located next to Brampton Station, a small and very pretty station located on the East Suffolk Line and served hourly in each direction. The station and level crossing are located within the peaceful village of Redisham, with the village of Brampton itself located around two miles away down a country lane. This level crossing used to have no barriers, and you can tell this from the way the alarms stop sounding before the barriers raise, as these barriers have been 'bolted' onto the system as to save the costs of reconfiguring the entire system. This level crossing has two fairly loud alarms, each sound with rather high-pitched tones, and one of these alarms has become rather faulty as of recent to the time of filming and produces a very odd sound. Both alarms were installed in the 2010s, so this one alarm closest to the double lights isn't lasting at all as long as the one it replaced. This level crossing had half barriers added to it in November 2014, and it was previously un-gated and open, and each half barrier is unusually close to the wigwag(s) closest to it. There are a total of four wigwags for the road which crosses this level crossing, as well as a single extra set of lights for a small driveway beside it. Thanks for watching!
