UPDATE 4/17/13: This building had a fire in one of its mechanical rooms around the same time of the infamous Boston Marathon bombings. However, the two events are completely unrelated and coincidential. Therefore, this place is still fine. It's about time I filmed an elevator in Boston. Anyways, this is the "shuttle" elevator towards the entrance/exhibit side of the building. It goes from the lobby down to the exhibit level (I started on 1, the exhibit level). The elevator seems to have a modern style to it (it might have been remodeled over time). The COP has an interesting shape to it (rounded off edges) and the hall call panel is a circle (the other ones here are like that, too). The elevator tends to make harsh stops. Otherwise, it runs well. Also, listen to that Chewbacca motor. It sounds like the machine is right in the shaft. That's because it is. The machine room and the shaft are separated by a cage wall. This place is amazing. Not only does it have an amazing lobby atrium, but the content in the museum was presented well, starting from the campaigning right up to the assassination. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.
