Kajli, Kajoli, Kajuli or Kajali Mach also known as Fresh Water Cat fish is a delicacy! If you are a fish lover do not forget trying this amazing recipe. Owing to its delicate nature, the fish has to be cooked gently. Kajli Macher tel Chochchori will surely entice your taste buds and take it for a palatable ride! The addition of brinjal (begun) and fresh Coriander leaves (dhonepata) makes the preparation all the more Divine! What you require is just a plate full of steamed rice to enjoy this ambrosia! Ingredients: Kajli Mach: 300 gms Brinjal: 1 medium Onion: 1 medium Fresh Coriander - 1 Tbsp Tomato: 1/2 medium Green chilli - 4-5 salt -2 tsp Turmeric - 1 tsp Red chili powder: 1tsp Roasted Jeera powder - 1 Tbsp Mustard oil: 2 Tbsp Recipe: Take a bowl and add sliced brinjal, sliced onion, finely chopped coriander, sliced tomato, green chilli, haldi powder, salt and Kajli fish. Mix them gently as the fish is delicate/soft and might break. Keep the mixture aside. Heat the pan and add mustard oil. Put the fish mixture in oil and stir it gently for 5-7 mins. Cover the kadhai and let the fish cook for 10 mins in low-medium flame. Uncover after 10 mins and add roasted cumin (Jeera) powder and chopped coriander in it. Your delicious Kajli is ready!
