In the second part of our new series “20 Minute Meals”, we are looking at a classic pasta dish from Italy: Pasta alla Puttanesca. In “20 Minute Meals” DW Food Chef Felicitas Then takes on the challenge of cooking a European meal in under 20 minutes. Will she also succeed this time? --- Recipe: Spaghetti alla Puttanesca preparation time approx. 20 minutes Ingredients for 2 servings: Salt 200 g spaghetti 2 cloves of garlic 4 anchovies 2 tbsp capers 2 tbsp black olives, pitted 5 stalks flat-leaf parsley 4 tbsp olive oil 300 g canned chunky tomatoes Pepperoncini (trimmed chili peppers) A pinch of sugar Pasta water to thicken the sauce Parmesan cheese 1. First bring plenty of salted water to the boil for the spaghetti, then cook the pasta in it until al dente. While that is happening, finely slice the garlic, chop the anchovies coarsely, and the capers finely. Lightly crush the olives with the blade of a knife held flat. Chop the parsley finely as well. 2. Next, heat olive oil in a large frying pan, and first brown the garlic until light brown. Then add the anchovies, and let them liquefy a little. Now add the capers, olives, and tomatoes, and let everything simmer gently. Season with salt, pepper, pepperoncini, and a pinch of sugar, then leave it to simmer gently again. 3. Add the spaghetti along with some pasta water to the sauce pan and toss together well. Finally, sprinkle the spaghetti with parsley and serve hot.
