Don't get excited though, campsites are not on the river but many do have nice river views especially the premium sites. What we love about Fairview - Riverside State Park: 1. Peaceful park 2. During our visit, the Christmas decorations 3. Trees and grassy sites 4. Most sites have plenty of space between you and your neighbor and even the sites that are closer together provide more than enough space. (The campground is open with no brush between sites.) 5. Historic Otis House and displays of antique equipment. The Otis House is closed at this time for repair but it is still beautiful to see and there is a path to the river right by it with majestic oak trees with ferns and moss - beautiful! 6. Verizon works great here. 7. Good shower and laundry facilities 8. Fishing here! 9. Boat tours available or use your own boat or kayak 10. There are a few sewer sites: 71, 73, 75, 77, 79, 81 What we didn't love about Fairview - Riverside State Park: 1. Just a heads up, the ground can get a little soggy in rainy weather, but campsites are on pads so no worries about your rig sinking. All in all, another great stay! And bonus, Gary got to fish. Next Stop: St. Bernard State Park and a visit to New Orleans at Christmas
