In this talk, Dr Paolo Manzoni will discuss Vitamin D and Prevention of Respiratory Infections. Vitamin D is a critical nutrient performing several biological functions and delivering many health benefits. Its role is absolutely vital in enabling bone structure and integrity, but also in several other domains such as immunity, control of inflammation, and anti-infective responses. In particular, Vitamin D serum levels are inversely associated with the risk of developing respiratory disorders in infancy, mainly caused by RSV and other respiratory viruses.
