Luxury for less: Deep discounts aim to spark Downtown Portland comeback

There’s a renewed push to sell condos in Portland’s newest high-rise at a massive discount. A team of Portland-based realtors hopes sales at the new Ritz-Carlton spur a rebirth in the downtown residential market. Patrick Clark and his partners at Christie International Real Estate Evergreen are now in charge of selling out the Portland skyline’s newest high-rise. “The owner of the building wants to have a sellout that's not a rush to the finish line, but rather a methodical race to the finish line,” Clark told KATU. It’s a tall order. The residential portion of the building has 132 units. The prior owner sold 11. Clark and his team have a sales pitch for the remaining units that they think prospective buyers will find appealing.
