“I beseech you,... that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” - Romans 12:1 I climbed a mountain and I built an altar. I knew that God had asked His people in the Old Testament to offer sacrifice as a symbol of His Son. I knew that Jesus Christ came in the New Testament to fulfill that law and that mankind from that time forward was asked to make their lives a living sacrifice to their God. I knew something intellectually about sacrifice, but to build an altar, and then to put myself on top of it, this was a new experience. I felt so incredibly vulnerable before the Lord. I stared up at the sky and felt like crying as my love for God really was such that I wanted to live a life honoring Him.
