Feminist epistemology refers to the feminist engagement with questions of truth, objectivity, method, knowers as subjects and their perspectives. The key question of feminist epistemology as a field of inquiry involves the differences between the epistemic status of knowledge produced by privileged and marginalised subjects which pertains to the intersection of knowledge and power. About the Speaker: Krishna Menon is a Professor of Gender Studies at the School of Human Studies, Ambedkar University Delhi. Prior to that she taught at Lady Shri Ram College for Women and was the Director of the Centre for Peace. Her latest co -edited book published by Zubaan is an account of feminist pedagogy and leadership in the univeristy, titled Doing Feminisms in the Academy ( 2020). The book is based on an international research project grant from UGC UKIERI in partnership with the University of Edinburgh. Krishna Menon was the Principal Investigator of the project. She is currently a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Feminist Journal of Politics. Krishna Menon is widely published and has been a member of various advisory bodies of both the government and civil society groups. She received the Saahas Pragya Award for her contribution to Gender Knowledge from WISCOMP in 2020. She is also the recipient of the Teacher of Distinction Award from the University of Delhi. About the Lecture Coordinator: Dr. Sujata Roy Abhijat is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy, University of Delhi. Her areas of interest and specialisation are Environmental Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy, and Ethics and has also taught papers such as Philosophy of Science and Feminist Thought. About our Course Instructor: Dr. Reetu Jaiswal is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy, University of Delhi. Her areas od interest include Social and Political Philosophy, Gender Studies, and Media Studies. She is mentoring the Gender Champion committee of the department for the last four years.
