On day 40, we took a trip inland. As we wanted to continue up the westcoast but didn't wanna miss out on Arthurs Pass and Castle Hill, we decided to make a daytrip out of it. When we arrived at Castle Hill it was the most beautiful weather and there were many other people and families there, enjoying the scenery. We walked around the big boulders and felt incredibly small. Latwr we met Res and Kilian and they took our camera through some caves before we parted ways again and we took a quick but steep hike to the Devils Punchbowl Falls. We returned to Greymouth in the late afternoon, had some dinner and a relaxed evening. We are Marcus and Sabrina, a couple from Switzerland and this year we hiked 614 km from Cape Reinga to Auckland on Te Araroa (the long pathway) in New Zealand.
