Hosted by Revitaled Reintegration Services, this workshop explores the following topics on an Ontario-wide and general scale: Navigating police interactions A justice system overview The Youth Criminal Justice Act (YJCA) Reintegration processes Diversion programs Youth legal rights and system navigation This workshop is hosted by: Revitaled Reintegration Services Project Assistant, Shevani Patel About the LawLantis Lunch and Learn Webinar Series Youth pathways into and through the justice system are shaped by a complex mix of personal, social, and systemic factors. Too often, discussions about youth crime focus narrowly on individual choices without acknowledging the broader environments young people are navigating. This three-part webinar series explores the interconnected pressures, systems, and structures that influence youth behaviour, access to support, and long-term outcomes. Across these sessions, participants will learn about the forces that shape youth decision-making; the impact of systemic racism and school discipline policies; how policing and justice processes function; and how housing, education, mental health, community resources, and legal supports all interact to either protect youth or increase their risk of justice involvement. Each workshop is designed to build practical understanding, highlight real-world insights gathered from youth and practitioners, and equip participants with tools to better support young people in their communities, classrooms, and frontline settings. This series is part of Revitaled’s LawLantis Project, an interactive educational initiative that uses storytelling, gameplay, and real-world learning to demystify the youth justice system. LawLantis teaches young people about their rights, fosters critical thinking, strengthens advocacy skills, and helps reduce the stigma around accessing mental health and community supports. Through this series, participants will see how LawLantis contributes to prevention, systems navigation, and youth empowerment.
