The Black Book of Mordor The Legacy of Vóin Chapter 7 - The Tales of Khîl Chapter 7.1: Inside the Lonely Mountain Chapter 7.2: A Damaging Song Chapter 7.3: Grievances Instance monologue: "I will hear this complaint, but not at my throne. I will go among the people." Chapter 7.4: Iron Road Chapter 7.5: Errands at the Ironfort Chapter 7.6: Danger at the Drop Chapter 7.7: The Hidden Chamber Instance monologue: "Forgive the mess, my friend! I had only been cleaning for a short time when I found... well, you will see!" No Karazgar in this one... I wonder if that's a bad thing? This chapter is an interesting one, full of boring quarrels until we find a big mystery: The Black Book of Mordor (roll credits)! Is that our MacGuffin? Khîl talks to us about a fabled city called Thafar-gathol, which seems to be some sort of Dwarven version of El Dorado, except it's supposed to be somewhere in the middle of the mountains. But then again, he also speaks fo King Brand dying in a stream while Dáin fled to the Mountain (to which I replied "yes", but just because I had said "no", back when I did the same quest with my LM) and that the Easterlings had an extremely powerful fire grim working for them; so it's not likely that there is such a thing as Thafar-gathol after all... Lore discussion: Khîl's tales of Brand and of the fire grim are taken from the instances "Flight to the Lonely Mountain" and "The Fires of Smaug" and, if we consider these as "canon", then Khîl was speaking the truth: Dáin did leave us with Brand and he is, indeed, killed by many arrows at that stream. However, Authi is correct, because Tolkien tells us that, during the Battle of Dale, Brand was slain at the side of Dáin II Ironfoot, who stood there, by the gates of Erebor, defending his fallen ally until, he too, was killed. Therefore, Khîl's tales are lies?? In the first video, with my LM, I replied "no" to the Brand tale because I knew they died together and I didn't remember the instance's intro and I said "yes" to the fire grim tale because I did remember that one. Shame I didn't say "yes" to the former as well; both videos would have been more coherent... oh well!
