Constructing the Crown at One Barangaroo

Crown Sydney Hotel & Resort is Sydney's first six-star luxury hotel resort at Barangaroo South on Sydney Harbour. It is the tallest building in Sydney. This video shows some of the highlights on how we designed, manufactured and constructed the Crown at One Barangaroo. The TMD (Tuned Mass damper) weights 200-tonne and is mounted on level 70 and is used to stabilise the structure against violent motion caused by harmonic vibration. The TMD used in this structure moves in opposition to the resonance frequency oscillations of the structure by means of pendulums. The roof structural steel is comprised of 7,714 parts fabricated into 515 pieces. Gore's modular methodology reduces the amount of tower crane lifts from 515 to 200 lifts. The implementation of this project awarded Gore Projects as Lendlease's 2021 Supplier of the Year.
