This global risk model features a retail supply chain with a network of production plants, packaging plants and tier 1&2 suppliers in Europe and Asia. The dense and complex flow of materials, coupled with a wide geographical distribution, presents a challenging task in terms of risk estimation. For each supplier, facility and customer, Cosmic Frog provides a set of risk score (ex: geographical, economic resiliency, political, and natural disaster) that identify risk and the potential for disruption that may impact the supply chain. Evaluate the impact of city-level disruption across the network by running 80+ what if scenarios that exclude a given city due to events such as COVID-19 or natural disasters. Compute the performance impact of each city in the event of a disruption and develop risk mitigation strategies. In situations where both spend and performance impact are high, consider utilizing multiple sites and implementing risk-sharing partnerships and performance tracking mechanisms.
