Four friendly days in Sri Lanka

First time to the island of Sri Lanka but based on this experience I would love to return. It was a work trip with little time to properly explore but with the four or five hours I did have I manage to see a lot of Colombo. Highlights include the Seema (Sima) Malaka Temple, the Gangaramaya Temple, and the waterfront and beach by Galle Face Green. I could see the Lotus Tower but didn't get a chance to visit. I was based at the NH Collection Hotel which did have one of the nicest hotel rooms from these trips as well as roof top pool on the 24th floor which had some amazing views. The food and meals, whether in the hotel or street food, was all amazing but then again I do love this part of the world for its cuisine. The tea, also unsurprisingly considering what they grow in Sri Lanka (and back when it was Ceylon), was excellent too. On the flight out to Colombo I paid out of my own money to upgrade to business class for the four-hour flight from Dubai to Colombo. It was short but worth every penny. Lying down was a treat.
