Today we honour a number of holy men and women from across the ages, including: • Saint Meletius, Archbishop of Antioch — a faithful hierarch who fought against heresy in the early Church. • Saint Alexei, Metropolitan of Moscow, Wonderworker of All Russia — beloved pastor and miracle-worker. • Saint Meletius, Archbishop of Kharkov and Akhtyrsk — devoted teacher and shepherd of the faithful. • Venerable Mary (called Marinus) and her father, Venerable Eugene of Alexandria — ascetics who sought Christ above all. • Saint Anthony, Patriarch of Constantinople — known for his mercy and pastoral care. • Saint Kristo the Gardener of Albania — a New Martyr who bore witness to Christ unto death. • Iv̱e̱ron Icon of the Mother of God — a wonderworking icon of the Theotokos honoured on this day. • Saint Prochorus of Georgia — monastic founder and example of humble obedience. • Martyr Nicholas (Nikoloz) Dvali in Jerusalem — confessed Christ courageously. • Saint Bassian of Uglich — monastic ascetic and spiritual guide. • Martyr Luke (Luka) of Jerusalem, the Georgian — a faithful servant of Christ unto martyrdom.
