The Hardest Part of Hiking is Getting to the Trailhead // The hardest part of hiking isn’t the trail…it’s getting to the trailhead. This week, I almost talked myself out of going on my training hike…and I decided to go anyway. This winter, I’ve noticed how easy it is to let work, weather and busyness talk me out of going on my weekly training hikes. Not because I don’t love hiking, but because getting started is often the hardest part. In this video, I’m bringing you along with me on a solo training hike up Mount Sentinel in Missoula, Montana and talk honestly about the mental resistance that shows up way before I ever put my hiking boots on. This isn’t an extreme hiking video or a big adventure. It’s about showing up on a normal day, keeping promises to myself and choosing movement, even when motivation is low.
