Most people think Da Nang is just about the beach and the bridges. Today, I’m taking my scooter 30km west into the Hoa Vang mountains to find Làng Toom Sara—a stunning eco-cultural village that is home to the indigenous Co Tu people. As a US Air Force Veteran and expat living in Da Nang, I love a good scouting mission. The ride out here on Highway 14G is pure freedom—winding roads, zero traffic, and incredible views of the Ba Na – Nui Chua mountain range. Toom Sara (which means "Flower Stream" in the Co Tu language) is the perfect spot to "decompress" from the city. In this video, we are exploring: The Route: A "naked" look at the 45-minute ride from Da Nang city center. Co Tu Culture: Stepping inside the iconic Guol House (the communal heart of the village). The Stream: Walking along the clear mountain waters and the brick-red flowers that give the village its name. The Food: Trying traditional Com Lam (bamboo-cooked rice) and grilled highland chicken. Dhí Coffee: A quick caffeine stop at the village’s hidden cafe with a view of the mountains.
