Creating A No Train Horn Railroad Crossing! Tropicana Juice Train! Historic Video, CSX Trains

The level crossing and train spotting area in Glendale Ohio will soon become a "no train horn zone" if approved by Glendale council. Changes include installation of quad style railroad crossing gates, fences along the railroad right of way, relocation of public walkway over the tracks, signs stating "no train horns" and closure of one at grade crossing. This video shows the current setup and also shows an activated quad gate system in Florida. I talked to Donald Lofty, the Glendale mayor on August 3, 2017 . He said approval for the new installation could come at the next council meeting by the end of this August. The village of Glendale will pay around $265,000 toward the project and CSX will pay the rest. Costs are only estimates. Albion Road is the road that will be closed at the crossing and this crossing will be eliminated. Local residents have complained for years about the loud train horns and numerous freight trains pass through daily and Amtrak passenger trains make three round trips a week. The is an old Baltimore And Ohio Railroad line used primarily for directional running by CSX and Norfolk Southern. Most trains on this ex B&O line run northbound while most southbounds run on the Norfolk Southern main line a couple miles east of here. Thanks for watching!
