4. The New Testament Perspective — The Heart Matters While the strict 10% law is Old Testament, the New Testament shifts focus to attitude and willingness. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says: “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” This teaches us: Giving is not meant to be fear-driven. God looks at motives, not just amounts. Generosity is a lifestyle, not a checkbox. 5. How Should the Tithe Be Used? Biblically and historically, the tithe was meant for: Support of Ministers and Gospel Workers Mission and Outreach Work Care for the Needy — widows, orphans, the poor Sustaining Spiritual Teaching and Worship Offerings, on the other hand, often cover buildings, programs, and incidental expenses. THE TITHE’S PRIMARY PURPOSE HAS ALWAYS BEEN PEOPLE-CENTERED MINISTRY, NOT LUXURY. 6. The Principle of Spiritual Integrity IN ANCIENT ISRAEL, THE LEVITES WERE SET APART FOR GOD’S SERVICE. Today, the principle continues in a spiritual sense — servants of God should reflect God’s character in their lifestyle, humility, and calling. Giving should be done: With discernment With pure motives With a desire to advance the true work of the Gospel BECAUSE ULTIMATELY, TITHING IS NOT A TRANSACTION WITH A CHURCH — it is an act of accountability before God. 7. The Deeper Message TITHING IS NOT GOD TRYING TO TAKE FROM US BECAUSE WE GIVE WHAT HE HAS ALREADY GIVEN US. It is God teaching us: Trust over fear Gratitude over greed Stewardship over ownership Community over selfishness GOD DOES NOT NEED OUR MONEY — HE DESIRES OUR HEARTS. Conclusion Brethren, tithing is more than a tenth. It is honor, faith, obedience, generosity, and partnership with God’s work. Whether under Old Covenant structure or New Covenant grace, the principle remains: When we put God first, we acknowledge Him as the Giver of all we have. Let our giving be: Intentional Joyful Pure in motive Directed toward genuine ministry and compassion And may we remember — THE TRUE BLESSING IS NOT ONLY IN WHAT GOD PROTECTS OR MULTIPLIES, BUT IN THE TRANSFORMATION OF A HEART THAT LEARNS TO TRUST HIM FULLY. Always remember Matthew 6:21 KJV: “21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Will you follow Jesus today? Where will you spend eternity? Are you ready for Heaven? Do you believe in Jesus and have you repented of your sins? Have you allowed Him into your daily life and asked Him to continually transform you daily into the man or woman He wants you to be? If you can answer yes to these questions, you can rest assured that you will be with Jesus in Heaven when you pass from this life to the next. We don’t know what Heaven holds exactly, but if we truly trust God, we can trust that when he says it is paradise, it’s paradise. Don’t waste your time worrying about dying. Instead, spend your time living for Christ. The Bible says you can only get to heaven by trusting in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. You can’t earn your way into heaven: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV). God proved his goodness through his Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible says; “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 CSB). Are you ready to trust God to fulfill His promise of eternal life? You’ve got a place in God’s forever family ready and waiting for you. The invitation is wide open. But you must believe in Jesus and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. Are you ready? Start by praying this simple prayer: “Dear God, I know when I die, I’m going to give an account of my life to you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to turn away from my sins and toward you. Thank you for sending Jesus to die for all that I’ve done wrong so that I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know only your grace can save me, Lord. I could never be good enough to get into a perfect place. Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that you took all my guilt on yourself. You made me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In your name I pray. Amen.” If you just prayed to accept Jesus, please email me at gospelofjesusuhs@gmail.com and let me know about it. I would like to help you grow spiritually as you start your journey with Jesus.
